Here’s the blog challenge question for Monday, March 5, 2012.
Writers craft words into memorable phrases, stories, poems and plays. What writers make your heart sing? Why?
Background: In honor of Words Matter Week, a holiday that is celebrated annually the first full week in March, the National Association of Independent Writers and Editors (NAIWE) is hosting a Blog Challenge with a specific daily topic Monday through Friday.
Each blogger who posts responses to all five questions will be entered into a random drawing for a $25 gift card from Amazon (nothing better than books for a word-lover!). The winner will be announced in the next issue of The Edge, NAIWE’s e-mail newsletter (if you don’t receive it yet, you may subscribe at NAIWE.com.
When you compose your challenge post, remember to write it on your own blog, and include a link to the post with the specific question. When you publish your post, come back to this site and leave the title of your blog response and a link to your blog in the comments section of the post you are answering. As always, we look forward to reading your responses.

Hi everyone
One letter can make a huge difference to a word.
Add the letter G to Race and it becomes Grace – It goes from being somewhere favor is earned, to one where favor is given freely, without merit.

Late again this year. I will try to do better next year. Enjoy!

Better late than never with the Day 1 challenge question:

And I have no idea why the image appears twice in the post. It shows only once in the editing screen.
I know I’m really late, but thought I’d still post one today on this theme

I have trouble keeping a straight face. Generally. So I confess that my responses to these questions are not always sober, sincere, and earnest. As indicated by the title of the blog post: http://ridexc.wordpress.com/2012/03/07/the-unimportance-of-being-earnest/
I answered all five in a single post, btw, because that’s how I roll (read: I’m appallingly long-winded!).
I enjoyed your responses (I have trouble with the straight face too). Thanks for sharing on all!
