About Words Matter Week

See the Press Release on the Media page.

Words Matter Week is listed in Chase’s Annual Calendar of Events:

National Words Matter Week

Celebrated annually, during the first full week in March

Online at www.WordsMatterWeek.com and Facebook; with other celebrations at libraries and schools nationwide.

This special week, sponsored by the National Association of Independent Writers and Editors, focuses on the importance of words, particularly the written word. The week features free teleseminars with individuals in the writing, editing, and publishing fields, plus a blog challenge and a charity opportunity benefiting First Book.

Participants are encouraged to share stories of Word Super-Heros– people or organizations that shore up standards of written English; funny word errors spotted in public places; and recommendations of good resources for logophiles (word lovers).  NAIWE requests that all submissions be family friendly.
